Eta Mu Omega Chapter Member Iris Outlaw Recognized and Honored for Great Achievements in the South Bend Community

The Eta Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. proudly announces Golden Soror Iris Outlaw's recognition at the City of South Bend's 10th Annual Black History Month Awards Ceremony and Reception. Iris, and her husband Warren, a member of the Theta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., were celebrated for their lifelong commitment to service.


Soror Iris' dedication to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic and ethical standards shows through her representation and advocacy work. She serves on a number of boards, including the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity and the Indiana Association of Blacks in Higher Education, among others.

Because of her visibility and results-driven work, Soror Iris has been a recipient of countless awards, including the Gloria E. Bonds Soror of the Year award three times.


Above all else, Iris thanks God for instilling in her the desire to serve and lead.
