Eta Mu Omega's newest 2025-2027 Executive Board and Standing Committee members were sworn into office.
-
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. celebrated 117 years of service to all mankind and 112 years of incorporation.
-
Eta Mu Omega honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with our annual day of service, beginning with a community service recognition breakfast and ending with the youth cultural program and youth community service awards.

The current Eta Mu Omega administration hosted their first Executive Board Retreat, planning for the year ahead.




February

Eta Mu Omega celebrated Pink Goes Red to promote heart health and encourage healthy lifestyle changes within the chapter and the community.

Along with the 2024-2025 Cotillion Debutantes, Eta Mu Omega participated in the annual St. Margaret's House Winter Walk to support the women and children of St. Margaret's House.
-
Golden Soror Iris Outlaw and her husband Warren were recognized and honored for their great achievements in the Michiana Community at the 10th Annual Black History Month Celebration and Reception.
-
Soror Dr. LaToya Perry was featured on WNDU, a local news station, for her mission to expand healthcare for women and how she does that through bonding with her patients.

Eta Mu Omega hosted Alex Groves, Miss Michiana 2005, as she led a presentation on personal branding for our 2024-2025 Cotillion debutantes.



March

Eta Mu Omega attended the Tolson Center for Community Excellence's 2nd Annual Black History Month Celebration to celebrate the significant contributions of Black Greek Letter Organizations and their lasting impact on American History, in partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) of South Bend.

Former debutantes were invited to Eta Mu Omega's meet-and-greet with the 2024-2025 debutantes for a time of growth, sisterhood, and preparation for an unforgettable Cotillion experience.

Eta Mu Omega celebrated 65 years of service in the Greater Michiana area.

At the Eta Mu Omega Founders' Day and Charter Day Celebration, Sorors presented Madam Anti-Basileus Taylor with the Gloria E. Bonds Soror of the Year Award.

Eta Mu Omega had the pleasure of hosting the Chairman of the International Nominating Committee Nichole Wilson of the Alpha Mu Omega Chapter and Central Region Representative to the International Program Committee Raimeka Graham of the Chi Chi Omega Chapter at our Founders' Day and Charter Day Celebration.

Madam Basileus Batteast and Golden Soror Outlaw visited WUBS, a local radio station, along with two of our 2024-2025 Cotillion debutantes, to be interviewed about the upcoming 2025 Debutante Scholarship Cotillion.

Eta Mu Omega Strengthened Our Sisterhood with an afternoon of creation at Wine and Canvas South Bend.

In partnership with the Iota Xi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Eta Mu Omega hosted a Scholarship Fair through our Uplift Our Local Community Program.

Soror Sanita Davis was recognized as our first-quarter honoree and special rose through the Build Our Economic Wealth Program, and was featured on HomeTown Living to celebrate this honor.

Led by Soror Davis, Eta Mu Omega Strengthened Our Sisterhood through the creation of our Sisterhood Survival Kits at our March Chapter Meeting.

Sorors Powell, Phillips, Dr. Calvin, McDougal, Outlaw, Butts, and Green attended the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly-renovated and newly-renamed Martin Luther King, Jr. Dream Center.

Along with Madam Basileus Batteast and Madam Anti-Basileus Taylor, Sorors Redding, Allen, Black, Edwards, Dr. Ziboh, Berry-Fielder, Baylis, and Branscomb attended the 91st Central Regional Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

Eta Mu Omega hosted our 23rd Biennial Debutante Scholarship Cotillion, introducing 16 debutantes and escorts to the Michiana Community and celebrating their service and high scholastic achievement.
-
Eta Mu Omega Strengthened Our Sisterhood and encouraged membership retention by inviting all Sorors in the Michiana Community to our Sisterhood Social event.

Soror Bianca Tirado was named a member of Michiana's Forty Under 40 Class of 2025.

Eta Mu Omega participated in the annual NPHC-South Bend bowling fundraiser event.

Eta Mu Omega participated in the annual Memorial Day parade with NPHC-South Bend.

Soror Dr. Breanna Allen was awarded a Thought Leader Award through the Thought Leadership Conference.

Led by Chairwoman Soror Sasha Wilson, Eta Mu Omega's Youth Leadership Institute celebrated the teachers at South Bend's Jefferson Traditional Middle School for Teacher Appreciation Week.

One of Eta Mu Omega's 2024-2025 debutantes, Adriana Swanson, become a state champion in the 100-meter high hurdles with a personal best time of 13.83 seconds.

Eta Mu Omega was featured multiple times in The Central Scene Magazine - Spring 2025.
-
Madam Anti-Basileus Taylor was featured for being honored at the American Cancer Society's Night of the Stars event for her oncological work at Beacon Health System. ​

Soror Keana Baylis was recognized as an Influential Finalist in Education for the Influential Women of Northwest Indiana Award.

Madam Basileus Batteast and Sorors Dr. Allen and Branscomb attended the NPHC-South Bend annual Who Runs the Yard Party where school donation supplies were accepted and proceeds sent to the annual Beyond the Yard Teacher Give Back.

Madam Anti-Basileus Taylor and Soror Baylis attended the 2025 International Leadership Seminar "Pathways to Soar: Unlocking Impactful Leadership" in Anaheim, California.

Soror Dr. Larissa Chism-Buggs was featured in "Our Health Matters," a five-part series for Minority Mental Health Awareness month in collaboration with 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend.

Madam Basileus Batteast attended the Delta Pi Omega Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. I-Walk Challenge.

Eta Mu Omega hosted our annual Chapter retreat, complete with sister bonding, community service, and a church service at Bethe Nabi Ministries.
-
2024-2025 Cotillion debutante Adrianna Swanson was honored with a Special Resolution from the South Bend Common Council for earning the state champion title in the 100-meter high hurdles and her academic achievement.
-
Madam Basileus Batteast and Soror Hackworth attended the NPHC Pickaball and Health Fair, in partnership with the Tolson Center for Community Excellenece and Pickaball Diverse Capitol Sports.

Eta Mu Omega celebrated our Chapter Basileus for her relentless fight against breast cancer and celebrating being a 13-year breast cancer survivor.

Madam Basileus Batteast attended the annual NPHC-South Bend Treats on the Trail, passing out candy to attendees at Pinhook Community Park Trail.

Sorors Dr. Allen and Berry-Fielder and Madams Basileus Batteast and Anti-Basileus Taylor participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in honor and support of our Chapter Basileus.

Eta Mu Omega had the pleasure of donating to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research and fight for a world without cancer.

Madam Basileus Batteast attended the NPHC Executive Board of Directors National Leadership Conference.

Eta Mu Omega members attended NPHC-South Bend's Friday's with the Nine.

Eta Mu Omega celebrated our 2023 Cotillion debutante Nyla Diggins on joining Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Theta Eta Chapter at Henderson State University.

Empower Our Families Chairwoman Soror Wilson hosted a Lunch and Learn event with Soror Valerie Golden as the keynote speaker.

Monica Brazier was recognized as our second-quarter honoree and special rose through the Build Our Economic Wealth Program and was featured on HomeTown Living to celebrate this honor.

Eta Mu Omega participated in NPHC-South Bend's annual Greek Santa event on Wednesday, December 17.

The members of Eta Mu Omega celebrated the holidays with a White Elephant Gift Exchange and the sharing of our favorite holiday treats and snacks at our December chapter meeting.

The Eta Mu Omega 23rd Biennial Debutante Scholarship Cotillion was featured in the 2025 Winter Issue of the Ivy Leaf Magazine.

Members of Eta Mu Omega attended and celebrated the reveal of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Epsilon Beta Beta Chapter new members. Additionally, we donated toys for their toy drive for after-school programming at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Dream Center.
