Eta Mu Omega Chapter Member Dr. LaToya Perry Recognized for Her Commitment to Expand Healthcare for Women

Eta Mu Omega proudly announces Soror Dr. LaToya Perry's recognition for her mission to expand healthcare for all women. WNDU 16 News Now interviewed Dr. LaToya and some of her patients.

Soror Dr. LaToya, a gynecologic oncology surgeon with Beacon Health System, fosters connection with her patients by treating them like family.

"...We usually don't have strength in numbers, so there's not a whole lot of people who look like me doing this job," Dr. Perry told WNDU. "However, I am able to make connections with my patients."

With Beacon Health System having the only full-service gynecological oncology department in this area, Dr. LaToya is working on its expansion by bringing on clinical trials so that local women don't have to travel to receive their treatment.

Dr. Perry is a first-generation college graduate and the 2024 recipient of the Inspiration Award from the American Cancer Society: Coaches vs. Cancer.
